About Me:

I suppose I should start by telling you who I am. Unfortunately that is not something easily answered. Who is anyone, really? When we ask, "Who are you?" what is it we really want to know? Am I my name? Is my name an acceptable answser? ("I am [name].") Am I my profession? ("I am a [job].") Am I my title, label or office of station? ("I am the [title].") These and other similar responses fail to actually answer the question--they are things I have, not things I am. I have a name but I am not a name. I have a job but I am not a job. I have a title but I am not a title. I know who I am, and that essence, called "identity," defies words.

Therefore I will simply say:

I am.
