Proper way to wear your ring?

Well? Do you wear yours with the compass points up (away from you), or down?

Personally, my points are down.

Brother Carnegie no GWM or GWPM, PM, WM, brothers wear their masonic ring no different from another MM should. We were all raise the same way. Present & past officer of the GL or WM, SW, JW we should give them duly respect of their office. But they are always your brother first.

I don't have a particular position when I wear my Masonic Ring. I always wear it with pride to myself and honor to the fraternity.... I have worn them up and down. It is what I do when I leave my home that will tell others and remind me I am a Mason. Funny though, I have heard short education talks on how a man should wear his ring...I listen with interestest and both schools of through make sense....

Manny

What is it about the wearing of the ring? It is merely an outward sign that you belong. I have also heard the many schools of thought... it is the way the alter was placed upon the removal of the hoodwink, or that I am off not willing to have masonic intercourse. Facing out if I and ready to receive. All this is nice, cute etc. the 357 says something about being ready, tried and tried again. Ring or no ring, facing in or out it is my duty to try you ; to deterrmine if you are travelling the same way...cowan or easdropper. If he is wearing a emblem of your profession it matter not which way it faces.

Hi,
Cory great site this is my first post.... In Northern NJ every brother I know wears their ring with the points facing them
"as they saw it when raised" until traveling to the East then they usually turn the ring around. So, that how I wear mine but this is not any kind of rule.... it's something that has just spread by word of mouth.

I think that either way works. I think that the most important part is that you are qualified to wear the emblem. From then on the symbolism of how it's worn is flexible and multifaceted.

My Bro. Pantello never let anyone fool you again. You should always wear your masonic ring as you were raise from a DL unto a LP on a square. An no matter what part of the world you are in its all the same. An dont you ever forget that either my brother.

Well, I wouldn't be quite so passionette about that thought. I know of no Grand Lodge that would be foolish enough to legislate such a thing.
I wear my ring as I see fit and you should waer yours the way it pleases you.
I know of many Past Master's who wear thier's with the points facing away from them, as it was when the obligated a Brother.

Me? My ring has no S&C...........

Pete, P.M. several time in Connecticut.

Thank you Brother Arnold,

You took the words right out of my mouth. I also know that no Grand Lodge would issue any such decree. However, when wearing my Blue Lodge Ring, I wear it with the points facing away.
